Hershey’s TDP

What is the Tour de Pink??

The 5th annual Tour de Pink, a four-day, 220-mile bicycle ride is scheduled for October 2-6 and will be riding from Chocolate World in Hershey, PA, to New York City. Sponsored by The Hershey Company, 150 riders will arrive at Chocolate World in Hershey, PA, the afternoon of Thursday, October 2 for orientation and a send-off party. We’ll hit the road Friday, October 3 and arrive at the finish line in New York City the morning of Monday, October 6. All riders will raise at least $2,500 each for the YSC.

Hershey’s Tour de Pink benefits the Young Survival Coalition, the premier international network of breast cancer survivors and supporters dedicated to the critical concerns and issues unique to young women and breast cancer. Through action, advocacy and awareness, the YSC seeks to educate and influence the medical, research, breast cancer, and legislative communities to address breast cancer in women 40 and under, and to serve as a point of contact for young women living with breast cancer. One-hundred percent of the money riders raise goes to the YSC.

How you can make a difference!

As this is my third TDP, I am finding the preperation for this ride to be more grueling than I had anticipated. But enough about me, if you read this far then your probably thinking hey this is a great opportunity for you to either get a good tax deduction or you feel that this is a most noble cause to support.. Please continue to read.

The bottom line is that I will be cycling the 220+ miles, that is my job, that is what i am preparing to do. Your job is to sponsor me with donations. See the links below:

Now I have no doubt that I can get ready to complete the 200+ miles through the rolling hills of PA and NJ.

So I will hold up my end of the deal. I will ride and prepare myself for this event. All you need to do is kick in some Capital (Money) and thus you will get a nifty tax deduction, get to follow me as I train and complete this ride. but most importantly your support goes towards a phenomenal group in the Young Survival Coalition (YSC). So there are three great reasons to donate. But I’m going to add one more. To learn more about the YSC and this event go to the following websites:

Additional Incentive to Donate

So to make things interesting I figured I would add the additional incentive (for people who may want to make me hurt).

For the first 2500 dollars raised I will add 50 miles to this event. (The Day Prior to the event) Then starting at 3500 dollars raised and for every thousand dollars raised after the initial 2500 dollars I will ride a full century, These subsequent century rides will be done post the event with minimal support. So to be clear:

2500 dollars = 50 extra miles (or 2 miles for every 100 dollars raised)

3500 Dollars = 1 Century Ride

4500 Dollars = Another Century Ride

Etc

Etc.
